1.All school rules and procedures will be enforced, please refer to the Student Handbook.
  1. Be in your seat and ready to work when the tardy bell sounds. Every third unexcused tardy will convert to a class absence and will result in a day of PIT (lunch detention.) When you enter the room, get materials ready and place book bags in the designated place. Follow instructions for getting started and complete the warm-up activity.
  1. Show respect for others and their property. You are responsible for your work area; notify me immediately at the beginning of class if anything is out of order. Everyone is expected to maintain the facilities and equipment properly. Supply cabinets and refrigerators are accessible only as per teacher instructions.
  1. Outside food and drinks are not permitted. Foods prepared in the foods lab may be served or packaged to take home. Perishable foods must be kept refrigerated and picked up at the end of the school day to help prevent food-borne illness.
  1. Appropriate behavior is expected at all times.
  1. Leave your work area clean and neat. Please return all materials to the proper location. You may be asked to help clean the demonstration/measurement areas; to fold towels; or to sweep the floor. YOUR COOPERATION IS EXPECTED.
  1. We will begin cleaning up five minutes before the bell. Please remain at your seat until your area has been checked for neatness and you have been dismissed by the teacher.
  1. If an emergency, i.e. restroom need, should arise and permission is granted by the teacher to leave the classroom, you willbe provided a hall pass and asked to sign out. Please let me or our school nurse know immediately if there is a special medical need.
  1. Late work will impact an assignment grade as follows: 1 day late = -10 points, 2 days late = -30 points, 3 days late = -50 points. After 3 days a zero will be assigned. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate make-up work upon return to class, 3 days will be provided for completion. Power hour tutoring may be scheduled when necessary to provide time/help to complete assignments and/or tests and quizzes.
  1. SAFETY IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE AT ALL TIMES IN THE CLASSROOM AND LABORATORY. DO NOT OPERATE OR TOUCH ANY EQUIPMENT WITHOUT first BEING INSTRUCTED TO BY ME!
