I Jurmala Wushu Open Cup

RULES

1.  The tournament goals are promotion of sporting Wushu, improvement of Wushu skills, exchange of experience between the athletes of the various countries, selection of the athletes into teams, promotion of healthy way of life, attracting children, the youth and adults to practicing Wushu; attracting Wushu teams from all over the world to the competitions organized by the Latvian Wushu Federation

6.  Preliminary entry can be given right after receiving of rules of the competition, but not later than April 29, 2013

7.  Final entry can be given right after receiving rules of competition, but not later than April 27, 2013

8.  Age groups (taolu):

·  Children under 7 years

·  Children 8 to 11 years

·  Juniors 12 to 15 years

·  Adults 16 to 30 years

·  Adults older than 30 years

9.  Programm:

9.1. Opening and the festival part

Opening of the competition and parade

Demonstration of different kinds of wushu (solo or group performances), qigong technique, theatrical performances and fights.

9.2. Sport programm:

9.2.1. Basic programm (all age groups)

Barehand: Chanquan, Nanquan, Taijiquan

Short weapon: Jian, Dao, Nandao

Long weapon: Qiang, Gun, Nangun

Boys and girls until 7 years including can do 16 or 20 forms, 2 self-made roads of basic programms. Duration of the performances is not taken in account. 2 sportsmen perform at he same time.

Children from 7 years, Juniors and Adults can do basic forms (32 froms) or 4 self-made roads of basic programmas. Duration of the performance is not shorter than 40 seconds. For Taiji time ir not less than 3 minutes and not more than 4 minutes. 2 sportsmen perform at the same time.

9.2.2. Competitive programm:

Barehand: Chanquan, Nanquan, Taijiquan

Short weapon: Jian, Dao, Nandao

Long weapon: Qiang, Gun, Nangun

Taiji weapon

Sportsmen do Gui-ding or self-made forms editions 1999, 2006. Time of performance: not less than 1 min 10 sec for children and juniors, not less than 1 min 20 sec for adults; in taijiquan not less than 5, but not more than 6 minutes; in taiji weapon – not less than 3, but not more than 4 minutes.

Individual competition takes place under the 1999 year Rules. The jury, composed of 5 people, is the same for all age groups. There is no special jury brigade for valuation of particularly complex elements.

9.3. Traditional programm:

9.3.1. Traditional barehand forms:

I group: xingyi, baguazhang, bajiquan.

II group: tongbei, pigua, fanziquan, choziaoquan.

III group: ditangquan, all imitational styles: usuntokaoquan, houquan, yingzhaozhua, tanlanquan, zuiquan, baihequan.

IV group: shaolinquan, chaquan, huaquan, hunquan, paoquan, traditional nanquan and all other styles those are not included in precedent groups.

/ / Time of performance not less than 1 minue, for traditional taijiquan it is 3-5 minutes

9.3.2. Traditional weapon:

I group: single.

II group: double.

III group: flexible

/ / Time of performance: not less than 1 min.

IV group: taiji weapons.

/ / Time of performance: from 3 to 4 min.

9.4. Fighting sets:

Time of performance: not less than 50 seconds

I group: Barehand vs. barehand

II. group: Weapon vs. weapon

III group: Other

9.5. Group events:

Time of performance: from 3 to 4 minutes, 6 sportsmen or more, of any age or gender. CD or audio-file with music for the perfomance must be given in advance, on the day of arrival or during the credentials committee.

10.  Judging:

Chief judge of the competition: President of Latvian Wushu Federation – Alexey Gailish

Jury brigades are formed by the chief referee of the copmetition and the chief referee of that section.

11.  The Panel of Appeal: Alexey Gailish, Anatoliy Kiselyov, Daniel Saykovskiy, Vitaliy Vasetskiy, Yuriy Besarab. The appeal can be submitted not later than 30 min after the announcement of mark. The appeal fee 50 Lats will be returned to team, if the appeal is satisfied. If not, it will be spent for the tournament needs.

12.  The draw-lots are computer-based. Will be performed after submitting the final entry forms after April 27, 2013. The detailed list of events will be made after the credentials committee. In case of submitting final entry forms after December 1, 2012, adding of athletes, changing of the categories or age group of an athlete – fine is 5 Lats (7 Euro) for every change in the regulation.

13.  Winners in individual competition:

The winners are being determined in every age group by the highest score. If there will be more than 7 persons participating in the event, 6 persons will be awarded.

1 place: medal, diploma
2 place: medal, diploma
3 place: medal, diploma
from 4 to 6 place: diploma.

If there will be less than 3 persons registered for any event, this event will be joined to another event without the special agreement with the team’s officials. If an athlete performs many times in one event, only the highest mark is taken for awarding. Final mark will be announced right after the performance.

Exact information about determination of the winner will be given to the team leaders after receiving all the entries and forming the detailed list of events.

14.  Determination of the winners in teams' offset

On the results of the competition that was held, organizers do the rewarding with cups and commemorative prizes for the three best teams. Determination is going in a way of counting the number of gold medals. In the case two or more teams have the same number of gold medals, counting the number of silver medals happens. If in this case the results are also same, the number of bronze medals are counted.

15.  Participation conditions:

Number of athletes in team is not limited.

The following information is included into the entry form: athlete’s first and last name, exact date of birth, events they are taking part in, the stamp of medical permission, the sign of the team/organization director, mail address, contact tel/fax number, email.

16.  Conditions:

Participants pay for themselves all charges for journey, rooms and meals and bring their own equipment.

During the registration every athlete (or team leader) must provide medical permission that confirms that the athlete can take part in the Championship

17.  Payment:

Fee for the first event in group from 1 athlete is 15 Euro, for next one it is 10 Euro.

Fees from Latvian teams are accepted not later than the day of giving the final entries (April 27, 2013). From foreing teams – right before credentials committee.

18.  Place and time of the Championship

The competition takes place in Latvia, Jurmala, Rajnia 118 at May 11, 2013. Competition starts at 10 am.
