KYLA Coach Requirements 2018Spring Season

KYLA hopes to provide every lacrosse player with a safe and enjoyable lacrosse experience. Therefore, there are several requirements that each coach must fulfill prior to registering to coach for the season. Below is a checklist of those requirements, including further details for each specific item.

Required items for ALL Coaches

Annually:

Current US Lacrosse Coach Membership valid at least through July 2018(it will be good for one year once you sign up)

As required:

NCSI background check via US Lacrosse (every 2 years) (You do this on US Lacrosse website when you are getting your US Lacrosse membership).

First Aid, CPR certification (2-year certification), we had a big class last year so you will need to get one on your own somewhere for 2018 if you missed last year.

Center for Disease Control “Heads Up” concussion training (every 3 years):

One-time:

NJ State Police Fingerprinting (separate form), make sure you make appt. online.

US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program (USL CEP) Level 1 Online Course

Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Double-Goal Coach Online Course

KYLA Coaching Application Form with signed Code of Conduct (first time coaching)

Required items for HEAD Coaches of all Boysteams and 14U Girls.

US Lacrosse Level 1 Field Certification (there are two in the area before season starts)

•To achieve USL CEP Level 1 Certification one must complete the US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program Level 1 Live Clinic in addition to completing the above one-time requirements.

We recommend all head coaches become level one field certified.

ALL requirements must be completed PRIOR to the first day of practice andallcertificates of completionmust be submitted to the KYLA .

KYLA will reimburse coaches for the following:

•US Lacrosse Membership fee

•US Lacrosse Level 1 on-field instructional clinic fee

•Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) on-line course fee

•NCSI background check fees

•Initial NJ Background Check/Fingerprinting

•First Aid/CPR/AED – KYLA offers a class every two years.
