SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION

What is this event? How did it start?

The wildly popular Hoops Challenge returns for its tenth year in 2015. With each year seeing higher anticipation from those who regularly attend and participate, the tournament has become one of the Park Hill community’s most unique alumni events. Since 2005, school pride, friendly competition, reuniting classmates, and honoring an extraordinary individual are just a few of the reasons former Trojans turn-out for this event year after year.

The tournament continues to be inspired by the life of former Park Hill student and basketball playerDarren Floyd (#14), a member of the Class of 2005, whopassed away in a tragic 2004 car accident on Barry Road. Due in part to the efforts of this event, his jersey was retired in 2007 and now hangs in the boys locker room.

This event, held in his memory, has helped endow one annual scholarship in perpetuity with the Park Hill Education Foundation. Since 2008, an additional annual scholarship is awarded to a member of the varsity boys basketball team who exhibits character, hard work, and leadership.

Why become a sponsor for this event?

This event is strongly driven by the grassroots support of proud Park Hill community members with tournament entry and admission fees. However, local partners and sponsorships are what ‘push us over the finish line’ of our scholarship goals with their small donations. They also enhance the tournament experience for players and spectators alike.

We have the flexibility and enthusiasmto promote those support groups to the furthest extent possible. Sponsorships and promotional opportunities are available in all shapes and sizes. Flexible arrangements can be made to fit the needs of your particular company, organization, or family.
