Referee Application and Agreement

AGREEMENT:

q Referees will be hired as independent contractors and will not be considered employees of Marcellus Youth Soccer, Inc., hereinafter referred to as MYS.

q Referees will be scheduled in advance for a specific number of games and dates; If the Referee is unable to provide services as scheduled, he/she will be responsible to obtain a substitute and inform the MYS Referee Coordinator of the change, no less than two days prior to the scheduled game(s).

q Payment for services performed will be based on the number of games as scheduled and recorded on the Referee Log sheets.

q Payment rates are per game and will set and annually.

q Referees are expected to supply their whistles, stop watches and other personal equipment; MYS will supply the fields and all equipment used by the teams.

q MYS will not withhold any amounts for Federal, State or Local taxes or any other charges.

q The Referee is responsible for any Federal, State or Local taxes associated with payments received.

q The Referee will enforce the rules of the game with appropriate discretion.

q MYS will fully support the Referee’s autonomy and authority, and will ensure that the Referee is treated with respect and courtesy.
