COMENIUS MEETING IN SLOVENIA

It's Monday morning, 11th March; We (Bianca, Sofia, Michael and Andrea) are at Sondrio railwaystation waiting for the train which will take us to Slovenia. How exciting!!!

Mrs Bocconi, the English teacher and Mr Tempra, the I.T. Teacher are there, too.

When we arrive, we meet the Slovenian guys who will host us in their family. “How will the families be like”, we think.

The main worry is the language because nobody speaks Slovenian, but thanks to English, the common Comenius language, we can understand each other... more or less!!

On the following days we share our lives with our Slovenian friends.

We get up with them, have breakfast together and then we catch the school bus.

At school we meet the teacher and the other European students.

We attend lessons and find out that the school bell is a proper melody which changes at every lessons

Before going to the canteen we gather in the gym where the headmistress and the Slovenian coordinator, Andrey, greet all of us officially and where some Slovenian student present their school and their country

In the afternoon we have a walk in Kropa and visit the local museum. Kropa is famous for blacksmithing: they used to make 127 different types of nails, from the smallest for shoes to the biggest for the railway or the roofs. Gosh!!

On the day of the presentation whose topic is “Happiness now and then”, we

are really excited and a bit worried but then we start to talk and calm down slowly.

We illustrate the posters and finally we recite our poem on happiness which is a big hit.

Afterwards we have a lot of fun dancing, singing and listening to music all together, even Mrs Bocconi joins the dances while Luigi records everything with his videocamera, so we have the evidence of it!!

On the next day we go to Lubijana, the Slovenian capital. It's snowing and it's freezing but this doesn't stop us from enjoing the city. How beautiful!!

The four days fly and we have to say goodbye to our wonderful host family and our European friends:we are all sad but can't wait for the next meeting in our country, in Italy. What will it be like? Fun, for sure!

On Friday morning our Italian group leaves early to have the chance to visit Venice, too. That's really worth a stop!

We arrive in Sondrio in the evening; we're tired but happy with this amazing experience.

THANK YOU COMENIUS!!!
