Director – Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce

Located in East Central Georgia, the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full time dedicated Director to lead our organization in meeting the needs of our membership and our community. Reporting to the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of Forward McDuffie, the Director is responsible for providing leadership to the organization through member services, relations, and retention, new member recruitment, community relations, volunteer development, financial management, staff relations, and strategic planning.

The Director serves as liaison to its membership (individual members to industry executives), government officials, Forward McDuffie, our community, local and area media, and peer chambers of commerce. The Director is a key spokesperson and advocate for our membership and the business community in McDuffie County.

The Director possesses exemplary personal and business ethics and integrity to enhance the credibility of the organization. The Director possesses the ability to foster an internal organizational culture of teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration between the chamber and Forward McDuffie staff and leadership. The Director continuously exhibits dedication, initiative, and drive to continuously fulfill the mission of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce.

The successful candidate will possess a validated record of successfully leading a corporate marketing or sales organization/team, or relevant public relations or business administration leadership experience. Experience leading a chamber of commerce in a full-time staff position is a plus. A four year college degree in marketing, sales, public administration, or business administration is preferred.

The successful candidate will possess strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to provide high-quality, high-impact presentations to all chamber stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess soft skills as well as conflict resolution skills. The successful candidate will possess exceptional computer skills to include proficiency in all standard word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and financial computer software. The successful candidate will also possess knowledge and successful experience in the organizational budgeting process.

The successful candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Some travel is required including some overnight travel. The successful candidate will live in McDuffie County. The Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce offers a competitive salary and benefit package commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and education.
