Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held at the Britannia Inn, Wells on Monday 6thMarch 2017. Copies of Treasurer’s written Report and the 2017 Accounts attached hereto form part of these Minutes.

Dedication. The meeting opened at 1100 with the Dedication by Rev. L. Morris. He remembered Graham Clark.

Attendance:24 members present: P. Branson, G. Brown, Mrs C. Browning, L. & Mrs D. Burden, D. Charles, J. Fish, R. & Mrs S. Fling, J. Hawkins, H. Leach, M. Leach, Mrs C. Lynch, G. Mackinlay, Rev. L. Morris, B. Norman, N. Pettigrew, D. Savage, F. Smith & Dtr, M. Webb, R. Whittingham,D. Willmott and Steve Wilson.

Minutes of last AGM. Minutes of 7thMarch 2016 AGM at the Britannia Inn, Wells read by Secretary, carried unanimously.

Matters Arising/Apologies: Nil. 12. T. Ainsby, A. Baker, Mrs C. Breckon, A. Goudge (Area HQ), G. & Mrs. Y. Hayward, P. & Mrs T. Long, J. Morey, J. Monaghan, D. Rogers, Mrs D. Schofield and P. Yusen.

Re-election of Officers/Committee. The following have offered themselves for re-election:

a. Branch Chairman – Paul Branson.

b. Branch Committee:

Vice-chairman and Wings Appeal Organiser – John Hawkins.

Treasurer – Trish Long MIAB.

Welfare Officer – Carolyn Browning.

Social Officer – Martin Leach.

Secretary – Noel Pettigrew.

G. Brown proposed, M Leach seconded that Paul Branson be re-elected as Chairman, carried unanimously. L. Burden proposed, L. Morris seconded that the Committee be re-elected en block, carried unanimously.

Branch Guidance on RAFA Central Council issues:

a. Branch Regulations.

b. Branch Delegate to Annual Conference, no volunteers.

Secretary. Area NL for Mar 2017; RAFA Insurance; Volunteering vacancies; Review of Area, Branch and Club Rules; Area Annual Review 2016.

Treasurer.Absent; Treasurer’s written report attached; proposed by M. Webb, seconded by L. Burden that the accounts be accepted, carried unanimously. Accounts, L. Burden proposed, Mrs C. Browning seconded that the Accounts be accepted, one abstention otherwise carried unanimously.

Welfare.Fred in Henton; Yvonne in Tudor, opposite Morrisons Glastonbury.

Vice-Chairman.Handy Vans home help for over 70s tel 0203 053 7073, email ; volunteer to collect, 8 stores print-out list; Tesco and Waitrose tokens, keep until Sep before putting them in.

Speakers.3 Apr Mike Bolton; 1 May, leaving free for Tomkins; 5 Jun Andy Fryer; Arthur Spenser and Alan Bateman.

Social.NTR but have something for next Meeting.

Chairman.Thanks to R. Whittingham for all his help; also thanks to the Committee for its help; Branch Efficiency Shield will be collected at the Annual Conference; the Concert had 80 tickets unsold; the Concert Committee now includes ATC Cadets; the next Concert will be on either 11, 12 or 13 December 2017; 2018 is the 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of the RAF and the Concert will be broadcast by the BBC.

Cadets. 1955 no Committee Meeting in Feb, Mar Meeting will be next month; 914 NTR; Castle Cary Sqn is not sure if it is in or out; 1182 29 Cadets, Committee Meeting next month; ATC Cadet Sqns Commandant of Air Cadets says there will be no diminution of Air Cadets.

AOB.Wings Appeal, Sainsbury is demanding part of the Collection; Street Memorial in the Park is to be demolished and the Memorial is to be relocated; final flypast of Helicopters this month; The President thanks the Chair and the Committee.

Next Meeting. Mon 3rdApr 2017, Britannia Inn, Wells at 1100.

Raffle. £33.
