Improvements and Issues resolved with 5.0 Service Pack 1

Improvements

  1. Added support for new TruVision TVR42 recorder.
  2. Added support for VeDVR recorder.
  3. Added PTZ support for Legend IP PTZ camera.
  4. Added support for latest Interlogix cameras with SVR (requires SVR v.7.0.825.11)
  5. Added ability to save the stream type as part of custom views.
  6. Added ability to change recorder type from Device Properties menu for a recorder in device tree.
  7. Added access to recorder log files via Navigator device configuration menu.
  8. Added ‘delete user’ function for admin.
  9. Added “Manage Device Configuration” permissions to PTZ,set preset, and record tours functions.
  10. Improved the accuracy of SVR Video Loss Behavior.
  11. Improved localization on several areas of the user interface.
  12. Added functionality where zoom in/out buttons only scales between the start and end time of the local video file while playing an exported video in Navigator client.
  13. Added support to allow admin to create a username during creation of new users with SMTP
  14. Added support for Windows 8 & Windows 8.1.

Issues Fixed

  1. Fixed the issue where licensed cameras list mismatch between Navigator Server and Client.
  2. Fixed the issue where wrong characters displayed under Don't Group option in Device Management window.
  3. Fixed the issue where default time at timebar for the first playback search shows 06/19/2013.
  4. Fixed the issue where TVN20 cannot be added to Navigator 5.0 with a DynDNS URL.
  5. Fixed the issue where user can't login to Client Machine after adding IP camera to SVR device from Server machine.
  6. Fixed the issue where no items found when discovering cameras for SVR device.
  7. Fixed the messaging with Red "!" icon on tiles to not persist.

Upgrade Paths

Upgrades to Navigator 5.0 SP1 are supported from the following Navigator versions: 4.0, 4.0 SP1, 4.0 SP2, 4.0 SP3, 4.0 SP4, 4.0 SP5, 4.0 SP6, and 5.0.

To upgrade your TruVision Navigator from one of the versions listed, follow these instructions.

Step / Screen Shot
Place the TruVision Navigator 5.0 SP1 (5.0.41.8) setup.exe on the desktop of the PC where the previous instance is installed.
If it is a Multi-Client (Client/Server) installation, place it on the Server machine.
Launch the Install Shield Wizard by double-clicking the TruVision Navigator setup.exe to begin the installation. / N/A
The Prerequisite dialog may display with details about what programs need to be installed on the PC for TruVision Navigator 5.0 SP1 to run.
Click Install and TruVision Navigator will install those for you. /
Periodically, you may be prompted to reboot your PC for the prerequisite programs to take effect.
The upgrade process will resume automatically after you login to the PC after the reboot. /
Once the prerequisites have been installed, TruVision Navigator will begin its own upgrade process.
Follow the Upgrade prompts to make your selections for the upgrade. /
Review your selections and click Next after confirming them to complete the process. /
When finished, be sure to reboot your PC.
After the reboot, login to the application with your previous v4.0 or 5.0 Username and Password.
Your Navigator Tree should be in tact with all of your devices, users, and groups present. /
If this is a Client/Server install, the next time Clients log into the Server, they will be prompted to upgrade their Client via the Client Upgrade web page.
Note: Before proceeding, you must stop the Local Scheduling Service via the Windows Services Dialog.
To do this:
  • Right-click on My Computer and select “Manage”
  • Select “Services and Applications” on the left navigation bar
  • Select “Services” on the left navigation bar
  • Right-Click on “TruVision Navigator Scheduler” and select” Stop” (not required for upgrades from 4.0 SP6 or 5.0 versions)
  • Now follow the prompts on the Client Upgrade web page to complete the process for each Client machine.
  • After the 5.0 SP1 installation is complete, login with your previous username and password
