You will turn in your annotated passages at the end of the period. DO NOT leave the room with them. I will pick them up after school. Read and annotate the passage using the pencil-following method using only 5 minutes or fewer. You are looking for the GESTALT not the minutiae. Save that for wrestling with the questions. Reading quickly and effectively, and working in efficient groups, you should be able to answer all questions within the class period. **Anything posted after class is over will have points deducted. No side conversations. No cell phone use. Focus and get finished. In your groups, answer the following questions and post them to the classroom app. Post as follows:

Group names (everyone who participated in discussion and typing.) It is on you if you let someone not participate, so be sure to listen to all opinions, and if you disagree with the group, add on a piece to the answer stating your disagreement and what you believe the answer to be.

Then number and answer with complete sentences. You do not need to write the question.

  1. What is the topic? Who is his audience, and what experience with this topic do you think they have?
