Financial ReportMonika Hurford

This year Parent Council paid for: 4 presentations of performing arts, apples for Terry Fox, Blue Spruce/Silver Birch, rolling crates – pizza, freezies, long jump mat.

Traditionally school council pays for grade 5 farewell ($1000) – deluxe pizza ($450), drinks, ice dogs, school pin, photo, certificate, year-end activity (popcorn fundraising paid forTrip to Crawford Lake); now looking at performing arts activity – need $ for bus ~$200.

Still have $17 517 – still need to pay for cookies, pizza order; leave $1000 in account to start next year; need to spend $15 000 tonight.

Expenses: $5000 levelled books; $2500 barbeque – student meals; $2500 Xylophone; $3750 ($3000 if school gets grant) jungle sport subsidy (cost for students to pay $10 each) for 2 week experience (for next year) – $500 (if needed) for jungle sport deposit due now; ~$3 000 gym mural (mascot & character traitls); $170 track and field bus;

Motion to approve expenditure of expenses as listed above: 1st – Annastacia, 2nd - Karen, all in favour; approved

Teacher's Representative Report – Stephanie Colwell

Stephanie – thanks from Jump Rope Committee; mural request; feedback – are parents interested in clothing for PE for students? yes

Food Co-ordinators' Report – Nancy Glenville & Annstacia Smith

Nancy & Annastacia will no longer have students at Osprey so will no longer be food coordinators – as for future pizza sales, they suggested 1 price, all-in each week; forms in Laura’s computer, other pointers provided

Monika formally thanked both Nancy and Annastacia for their contributions.

$44 431 incoming, $26 259 outgoing, more cookies, etc. PROFIT $16 901

New Pizza Pizza franchise for next year; Jennifer is only current volunteer available for next year (but won’t coordinate);

"Ask Monika" Monika Hurford

Win-its? – there are enough stickers; Mrs. Vento will not be back to do them this year; will need to find someone else to take it on

How has bussing policy change affected Osprey? More info to come; may get another bus

Kiss-and-Ride? – kindergarten kiss-and-ride makes it go faster (as opposed to only having 1)

Staffing? – hired grade 4 FE teacher; Mrs. Beck has a position at another school; Mr. Edson to replace that day; ~7 LTO’s for next year

More portables? – no; no additional staff

Other BusinessKaren Kwan Anderson

On May 15, 2014, Karen submitted Osprey’s application for a PRO Grant.
