Job Purpose:To develop, edit and publish content for digital platforms and contribute to content for other fundraising media, thereby helping the charity to recruit, engage and retain supporters.

Hours of work:Part time 22 hours per week

Place of work:Working from home but requiring some travel to attend team meetings

Job description:

  • Work with Programmestaff to ensure that LPUKI’s digital content is maintained, updated, and meets high editorial and production standards.
  • Develop and create new online content to support LPUKI’s digital marketing initiatives, especially the Seedbed committed giving project, building new pages within the content management system.
  • Through appropriate digital channels/social media, build a fundraising community of Langham supporters, creating content and responding to online activity.
  • Utilise inbound marketing software to manage digital content workflows and processes.
  • Ensure that all digital content meets production guidelines, including Langham’s brand guidelines, SEO best practice, and World Wide Web Consortium Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Ensuring the charity's message and tone of voice is delivered consistently.
  • Understand and champion the needs of LPUKI’s digital audiences, and ensure that digital content creation is informed by user testing, evaluation, and general web statistics and trends.
  • Work as part of the fundraising team and liaise closely with the Digital Analytics specialist.
  • Undertake any other duties as are reasonably required by the UK Executive Director.

Person Specification:

Successful applicants will be required to have:

  • An undergraduate degree or relevant experience in journalism, marketing communication, digital media or publishing.
  • Significant experience of creating public-facing digital content, including both day-to-day updates and longer-term project work.
  • Experience of working within the charity or media sectors (desirable).
  • Demonstrable experience of writing and editing substantial editorial pieces, incorporating multimedia and creative storytelling.
  • Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to write clear and engaging copy for a broad audience and managing online communities via social channels.
  • Knowledge of web usability, accessibility and user experience
  • Excellent planning and project management skills, with experience of managing conflicting priorities while ensuring deadlines are met by yourself and others.
  • Proficient at using digital production software including content management systems, inbound marketing and media processing tools such as Adobe Photoshop.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including prioritising workloads on an ad-hoc basis to accommodate urgent tasks.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work on their own or as part of a team, with a high degree of professional integrity.

Salary £22,000 (pro rata)

Hours 3 days per week (22 hours)

Pension 8% contribution to a pension scheme

Holidays 20 days plus UK public holidays and days between Christmas and New Year (pro rata)

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the postholder to be a committed Christian.
