Campus Iberus presents the 4thedition of the Entrepreneurship awards sponsored by the CLH Group

The proposal ofSmart Lung, in the category "Business ideas", and the companyEfitarIngeniería, in the category “Innovative company”, are the winners of the fourth edition of the IberusEmprende awards, sponsored by the CLH Group.

The winners were announced during a ceremony held at the auditorium of Zaragoza University, before which the promoters of the finalist projects gavea presentation and defence of their proposals at a session open to the general public and broadcast live via the website of Campus Iberus.

During the award ceremony, the Chairman of the CLH Group, José Luis López de Silanes, congratulated the finalists. He also highlighted “the high level of competitiveness and uniqueness of the projects presented” and emphasisedthe relevance of entrepreneurship for “job creation and reactivation of the economicstructure”.

In addition to López de Silanes, the event was attended by the rector of the University of Zaragoza and current president of the Campus Iberus Consortium, José Antonio Mayoral; the rector of the Public University of Navarra and vice president of Campus Iberus, Alfonso Carlosena; the rector of the University of Lleida, Roberto Fernández; the rector of the University of La Rioja, Julio Rubio; and the executive vice president of Campus Iberus, Julio Lafuente López.

To select the winners and finalists, a panel of experts took into account criteria such as the uniqueness, applicability or innovation of the ideas.

For this edition a new category was created for the “project with the best online distribution”. The finalists of these categories will compete to prove whichproject has the mostonline distribution capacity. For this purpose, a presentation for each project will be posted on the Facebook page of Campus Iberus for 30 days and the one receiving the most“Likes” will be the winner.

The CLH Group and Campus Iberus have been cooperating for four years in order to foster entrepreneurship in the Ebro Valley, through the recognition of the best ideas and business projects submitted by students, graduates, teachers, administrative and service staff of all four universities that form part of this consortium.

This initiative is part of the CLH Group Entrepreneurship Support Policy implemented to contribute to innovation, the development of new ideas and, in general, entrepreneurial spirit. This policy is applied at a national level, especially focusing on those communities where CLH has its facilities.

Projects awarded

The winner of the category “Business ideas” is the projectSmart Lung, submitted by the University of Zaragoza, which presents a new generation of computers for diving (apnoea and scuba diving and underwater fishing) which, unlike currently-used devices, provide real information during diving of user nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oxygen levels in the blood, thus preventing accident risks.

Under the category “Innovative company”, the awarded project isEfitarIngeniería,a company with professionals from the University of Zaragoza and the University of La Rioja, which offers services for energy efficiency improvement, such as advice, gas and electricity supplier contracts, energy certificates or LED lightning, offering a new feature consisting of assuming the cost of the investment in exchange for a fixed fee over the whole project period.
