HELP US TO GET 25% EXTRA
BY ENCOURAGING YOUR SPONSORS TO GIFT AID
”AT NO EXTRA COST TO THEM”

Please help us to get that little bit extra from the government by signing up to “Gift Aid” on this sponsor form.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a scheme by which tax relief is available for donations of money. Did you know that your donation means an extra 25p in the £1 if you “Gift Aid”. This may not sound very much to you but every day charities nationally and locally are missing out on thousands of pounds because the public don’t realise, understand or simply forget about Gift Aid.

How Do I Gift Aid?

Simply fill in the sponsor form with your full name, Home Address which must includepost code, signature and amount donated.

(These details are required by Inland Revenue and charities are obliged to adhere to the Data Protection Act protecting your rights by not allowing your details to be passed on without your permission.)

Can Anyone Gift Aid?

No, you must be a current taxpayer and pay enough UK income tax and/or capital gains tax that is at least equal to the tax that all charities that you donate to will reclaim on your donations in the appropriate tax year.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can get relief on the difference between the basic rate and the higher rate of tax on the gross amount of the gift – you simply show the amount of the gift on your self assessment tax return or the P810 form.

BENEFITS OF GIFT AID
