* NWSWS is hoping to offer WEIGHT GRADED RACING (WGR) at this year’s event, rather than Straight Racing. If WGR is not approved by ISWS prior to our event, then we will have Straight Racing. Whether WGR or Straight, the racing will be conducted under ISWS rules.

Notice to Exhibitors

The North West Silken Windhound Society (NWSWS), its members, show committee, and volunteers assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to any dog, handler, exhibitor, attendee, spectator, any other person, or any person’s personal property whether the result of accident or any other cause. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this event and on this property is in the care, custody, and control of its owner/handler during the entire time the dog(s) are on the premises. By agreeing to attend this event in any capacity you are agreeing to absolve NWSWSfrom any responsibility including, but not limited to, any and all loss, damage, or injury to or by any dog, person or property.

Entries: Exhibitors are advised to print legibly when filling out forms. All entries will be put in the catalogue EXACTLY how they are listed on the entry forms. Owners are responsible for errors on the entry forms.

No dog wrongly entered in a class may be transferred to another class after close of entries, except where puppies are entered in the wrong age group, they may be transferred by the show secretary to the appropriate age group. Any dogs receiving their championship after they have sent in their entries may be transferred into the Best of Breed class by the show secretary. Once received no entry fees will be refunded for any reason.

Entries shall be submitted on the appropriate form and accompanied by the required fees. Checks should be made payable to NWSWS and sent to:

Close of Entries:Show entries close at 7:00 p.m.PST on June 11, 2011 and must be delivered to the show secretary along with accompanying fees on or before that date. PURSUANT TO ISWS RULES, NO DAY OF EVENT ENTRIES MAY BE ACCEPTED FOR THE CONFORMATION SHOWS.

Declination of Entries: NWSWS reserves the right to decline to accept and/or to remove any dog due to disease, viciousness, or other cause and no one shall have any claim against the aforementioned club, committee or individual for such action. No refund of any entry fees will be made.

Exhibitor Responsibilities: All dogs present must be held on leash or confined to their crates/pens while on the premises unless racing or coursing. It is expressly understood that the exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/orchildren. Each owner and/or Agent listed on the entry form and/or individual responsible for the dog at the show is bound by the Agreementbelow regardless of who may have completed and submitted the entry form. Judges will not waitfor any dog holding up a class, trial or meet. Owners, handlers or agents are responsible for the presence of the dog in the ring when their classes or runs are called. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, show, racing or lure coursing secretary or clerk,nor any other volunteer to make sure a dog is present where appropriate at the required time.

No Smoking. As this is a public school, no smoking is allowed outside of your personal vehicle.

Cell Phones. Please turn off all cell phones and pagers before entering the show ring.

No Personal Photographyduring Winners Portraits following conformation shows and performance events.

WASTE: Containers will be placed around the premises. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET. It is not our responsibility to clean up after your animals and we prefer you to dispose of it in the provided containers. Please be respectful of the facilities.

When making reservations, please be sure to let staff know that you will have dogs with you and check pet limits & fees. ENTRY FEES

Conformation Show, Lure Coursing & Racing

Pursuant to ISWS Rules, No Day of Show Entries May be Accepted for Conformation Shows. All class entries must be pre-entered.

Show Entry deadline is 7:00 p.m., Sat. June 11, 2011

CONFORMATION SHOWS

Entry fee for all Regular classes is $20.00

Entry fee for all NON-Regular classes is $15.00

Lure Coursing Entry Fees

Pre-entry deadline is June 11, 2011

Pre-entry fee for Lure Coursing is $15 per dog not to exceed $50 per kennel.

Late or day of entry fee for Lure Coursing is $18 per dog.

A limit of 10 certification runs will be available before the start of the trial. Certification runs will be $8 per dog. You will need to arrange a by dog. Please check the Agenda for time.

RACING ENTRY FEES

Pre-entry fee for West Coast Wicket Watchers ONLY $6.

Late or day of entry fee for West Coast Wicket Watchers ONLY is $8.

WEIGHT GRADED OR STRAIGHT RACING: Races will be run under ISWS rules regardless of whether Weight Graded or Straight Racing is implemented.

Pre-entry fee for Weight Graded or Straight racing is $14 per dog not to exceed $50 per kennel.

Late or day of entry fee for Weight Graded or Straight Racing is $17 per dog.

SHOW ENTRIES

CONFORMATION CLASSES

ALL Puppy and the 12 - 18 Months class registrations are determined by the age of the puppy on the day of the show, not the date of entry or registration.

REGULAR CLASSES FOR BOTH DOGS AND BITCHES

6 - 9 Months:For puppies that are at least 6 but less than 9 months old on the date of the show.

9 - 12 Months:For puppies that are at least 9 but less than 12 months old on the date of the show.

First place in each of these puppy classes will also compete for Best Puppy in Show with the Jr. Puppy Winners.

12 - 18 Months:At least 12 months of age and less than 18 months old, that are not champions.

Novice: At least 6 months of age or older and have not, at the close of entries, won 3 first place prizes in the Novice Class, nor a first place prize in the Bred By Exhibitor or Open Classes, nor 3 or more points towards their ISWS championship.

Bred by Exhibitor:The Bred By Exhibit Class has the following requirements:

*Six months of age or older on the date of the show;

*Not a champion of record on the date of the show;

*Owned or co-owned by any of the breeders of record on the show date;

*Handler must be a breeder of record and an owner of this dog. In any subsequent classes for which the dog becomes eligible, there are no handler restrictions.

American Bred:All dogs, except champions, who are six months of age and over, that were whelped in the US, by reason of a mating that occurred in the US.

Open:Open to any dogs 6 months of age or older.

WINNERS:This is open only to undefeated dogs of the same sex, which have won first place in any of the regular classes above. (If a dog is entered in Open and BBE and only takes first in one of those classes, the dog is not eligible for winners.) After Winners is awarded, the dog that took second place dog in the same class as the Winners shall complete for Reserve Winners.

Winners, Veterans, Best of Breed

Best of Breed Competition will consist of all ISWS Champions of Record plus Winner's Dog, Winner's Bitch, Veteran Dog, and Veteran Bitch.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES

Puppy 3-6 months:For puppies at least 3 but less than 6 month old on the date of the event. Dog and Bitch class winners will compete for Best Jr. Puppy in Show. Dog and Bitch class winners will also compete for Best Puppy in Show.

Companion:Open to spayed & neutered dogs as well as intact dogs. Dog and Bitch class winners will compete for Best Companion in Show

Stud Dog/Brood Bitch:The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch, along with up to four (4) of his/her get must appear in the ring together. The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch must be show in the ring with its get. Stud dog/Brood bitch does not need to be entered in the show but all get presented in the class must be entered in another class of the show to be eligible. Stud dog/brood bitch may be altered. Owner of Stud dog/brood bitch need not be the owner of get.

Veteran:Dogs and Bitches over 7 years of age. Dog and Bitch class winners will compete for Best Veteran. Both Dog & Bitch winners will competein Best of Breed.

Brace:Two dogs, irrespective of sex, must be owned by the same owner. Class shall be judged on 40% conformation, 40% matching looks, and 20% difficulty of the match. A brace is defined as two dogs of the same breed that are similar in appearance, performing in unison and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Entries must be intact. Entries do not need to be entered in any regular class. Not required to be of same sex.

Junior Handler:Novice Junior (under 12) and Novice Senior (12 - 18) Winner of each class will compete for Best Junior Handler.

Ribbons prizes will be awarded in the ring prior to the completion of judging, any discrepancies must be reported to the Secretary prior to completion of judging. Prize donors will be listed in the show catalog. All prizes must be claimed the day of the show.

AGREEMENT

I/we agree that the club and the persons holding this event have the right to refuse this entry for any cause, which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to compete for prizes, ribbons or trophies, I/we agree to hold NWSWS & ISWS, their respective members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents, event secretaries, and committee members, as well as the owner/lessee of the premises and any providers of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, including but not limited to judges, secretaries, and stewards, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I/we personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim;

I/we further agree to hold all the aforementioned parties in this agreement harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog;

I/we hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend, and save all the aforementioned parties harmless from all loss and expense (including all legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death, at any times resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself/ourselves or on account of damage to property, arising out of or as a consequence of my/our participation in this event, however such injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not to the same parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons.

I/we agree that any cause of action, controversy, or claim arising out of or related to the entry, exhibition or attendance at the event between the NWSWS club, ISWS, or any committee member or the owners of the event premises, and myself/ourselves or as to the construction, interpretation and effect of this agreement shall be governed by Oregon law.
