HSC Vocational Education and Training (VET) Disability Support (Secondary and Special Schools).

Program Description

This funding is provided to support individual students or groups of students with disability, undertaking school delivered HSC VET courses. Courses are delivered in the student’s own school, or a host school, and include a mandatory work placement component.

Please note that funding is only to be used for salaries of teachers and/or school learning support officers.

Targeted Student Group

Students with disabilities in regular classes or support classes in mainstream or special school settings, undertaking an accredited HSC school delivered VET course/s in Years 11 and 12.

2017 HSC Vocational Educational and Training (VET) - Disability Support

Application Process

Step 1

The Learning and Support Team, with support from the local Support Teacher Transition, ensures that the:

  • students meet the Department of Education’s Disability Criteria and have a current Disability Confirmation Sheet (DCS)
  • identified program is related to the student's personalised learning and support plan goals that have been completed collaboratively with the student, parent/s or carer/s and agency involvement where relevant
  • range of available resources at the school have already been accessed, and additional funds are required to support the identified program.

Step 2

Complete the application form attached.

Step 3

Principal verifies the information as a true and accurate record of the school’s request and that the students are eligible for the program.

Step 4

The application is forwarded to the schools local Learning and Wellbeing team member, as identified in the table above, by Friday 21 October2016.
