Meeting was called to order by the Vice Pres. at 7:30 pm. Minutes were published in the newsletter and were not read.

Treasurer’s report—A balance of $3,545.15.

Membership—Tammy Alden and Pauline Brolin from Swansboro were voted into membership.

Old Business:

Seminar—The Tom Coen seminar has been canceled. It will not be held this spring.

Specialty—There is still a need for a conformation steward. Tina Komorek will be available. The club needs to buy more rope to mark the rings and plastic for the building’s floor. The rescue group will be taking care of the food and the parade will be held after lunch. The judge’s gifts are purchased and $25.00 per day will be given to the trial secretary. The Best of Breed trophy on Sat. will be the grooming tops and on Sunday a plug-in cooler. The raffle will be held only one day.

New Business:

Seminar—This is a new seminar to be held in place of the cancelled one. The dates will be May 17 & 18, 2003 at the building in Mebane. Lynn Michael is checking to see if the building is available. The new seminar is “The Art of Presentation” given by Rod Oiski. It will be for two days with the first day for grooming. People will bring their own dogs to work on. A workbook is included. The second day is a virtue match with handling tips. His charge is $60.00 per person plus expenses. We need to know how many he can accommodate. We could offer it to the Collies if we need the numbers. The price will be $150.00 with a $25.00 discount for anyone that signs up before Jan. 15, 2003. The club voted to do this seminar.

Specialty-2003—Krys requested that the nominations for judges be sent to her by the end of the year.

Nov. meeting will be held at Tina Komorek’s house. December Christmas party will be a regular meeting night at Krys Messer’s house.

Web site-Amy has our web site up and operating. The site is www.tsscofnc.com

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm

Members present: Eileen Bassett, Tina Komorek, Dianne Hawes, Frank Fletcher, Chris Parkhurst, Shauna Dasnoit, Krys Messer, Chuck Dasnoit, Barbara Thompson, Cathy Whitaker, and Lynn Michael

Minutes from Club Picnic/Meeting

At the Eye Clinic 9/22, a short meeting was called by the President. The club discussed and approved A May seminar with Rodi Oishi a well known handler/Groomer. This is
contingent not making any waves with Tom Coen, since we already have him booked for next year. Also we need to discuss further the possibility of having two seminars. One in the Spring and another in the Fall.

The club approved up to $100 to be given to Chuck Dasnoit. He will be making corner posts for the ring. Last year there was a big problem with getting them out of the ground.

The Club raffle table will only be done on one day. Saturday is the day we decided on. This way we only have to worry about manning the table for one day. Shauna Dasnoit will have a sign up sheet for people to sign. The times are in 30 min. increments, making it easy for everyone to help.

Slate of Officers was presented by the nominating Committee. Lynn Michael and Barbara Nelson will send it to the newsletter.

Many brags were presented... Kristy asked that everyone please send them to the newsletter. In order to ensure accuracy.

Members present:
Barbara Nelson, Lynn Michael, Kristy Pedersen, Diane Hawes, Chris Parkhurst, the Dasnoit Family, Amy Butcher and Rita Barr (Kristy apologizes if she missed anyone)

Specialty Announcements from Krys Messer:

We’re trying to finish up the catalog for the specialty. PLEASE, if you are planning to place an Ad in the catalog (it is in 8.5 x 11 format) send it ASAP to Frank Fletcher at . If we don’t have ads to put in the catalog, we do not need to have the catalogs laser printed and we will go back to running them off at Office Max. Please e-mail Frank to let him know you have an Ad coming.

Word from our Webmaster (or is that Mistress) Amy Butcher . . .

I am happy to report that the TSSC of NC web page is PUBLISHED. I would invite all to visit the pages at http://www.tsscofnc.com/

The "Member Spotlight" is YOUR part of the club web pages. This is where you can say what you want about YOU - your brags, expected litters, past accomplishments, hopes for the future, heck, even just to express your undying love and devotion to our breed (or the breed's total and complete control over your life!)! Does not have to be formal. Further, it is my intention the Spotlights NOT be static. Very much like the Newsletter, I am most happy to update your Spotlight as needed or asked, as your brags change, your expectations change, when that exciting stud dog comes to visit, heck, even just to change it with the seasons! - whatever.
