Camp Descriptions:

Hunter/Jumper Beginner:This week is tailored to those with limited or no riding experience! Riders will care for their own horse, receive individual instruction in the ring, clean stalls and learn hunter/jumper style riding. Campers also swim, hike, trail ride, bathe the horses, partake in team-building activities and more. This week highly emphasizes the importance of horse care, horsemanship and creating a lasting bond between horse and rider.

Hunter/Jumper Intermediate: This week is tailored to those who have had several riding lessons and want to enhance their equestrian skills! Riders will care for their own horse, receive individual instruction in the ring, clean stalls and learn hunter/jumper style riding. Campers also swim, hike, work on team-building skills, bathe the horses and more. This week highly emphasizes the importance of horse care, horsemanship and creating a lasting bond between horse and rider.

3-Day Eventing Advanced:This is a new section of camp that is tailored to intermediate/experienced riders who want to heighten their eventing skills! Riders will receive dressage, cross-country and show jumping training. They will also learn critical veterinarian and farrier care, as well as share responsibility for a horse. Campers will hike, swim and partake in team-building activities. They will hear from guest speakers and even get the chance to design their own jump course and instruct their friends by the end of the week!

Ellis Young Riders:The Ellis Young Riders camp is a unique partnership between Stride Away and The Ellis School that is designed for the horse enthusiast and scholar. This is a week full of equine enrichment, riding and personal growth. Activities include an individualized lesson each day, grooming the horses, feeding and caring for the horses. Riders learn about horse anatomy, equine professions, breeds, colors and more. Riders also hike, swim and partake in team-building activities. Daily snack and arts/crafts are included.

Pony Passion:Get ready for our third summer offering Pony Passion! This is a week full of riding, overcoming obstacles and growing as an equestrian. Riders are a “co-owner” of their own horse for the week. They are responsible to feed, groom, ride and care for their horse. Riders receive extensive instruction up to 2 times daily and are challenged with new obstacles. They also learn veterinary care, farrier skills, how to load a horse in a trailer and more. This camp is limited to 8riders. Riders need to be proficient at the posting trot to attend. Get ready to grow as an equestrian during this intense week!

Training Camp: Training camp is designed for individuals who want a physical and mental challenge with a rewarding experience this summer. This is an intensive 3-day camp that includes fitness, dressage, show jumping and cross-country in an altruistic atmosphere. Riders begin the day with a fitness activity, care for the horses and ride daily. They also partake in teambuilding activity and learn essential equine nutrition, critical care tactics and more. We are excited to see our riders grow through this intense 3-day camp!
