Minutes for March 22, 2016 were approved:

Treasurer’s Report:

-  Bank account balance 4/14/2016 - $14,308.89

-  Sue advised that old bank from Huntington Bank has been closed

OLD BUSINESS:

New member prospect list - Jeff handed out a sheet with a list of people to contact to invite to Rotary – not limited to that list

Visioning/Strategic Planning – Jim White (Grand Rapids) has agreed to be a facilitator – Jeff will follow-up with Jim for dates

-  Unpaid dues - Erik Bengston will be deleted from Rotary roster on 5/01/2016 – The club will need to absorb his past dues of $870.00

NEW BUSINESS:

New member recommendations - Scott Crandell made a motion and Board agreed to accept Paul Bedient and Donna Hendrie as new members. Jeff will announce them to the Club over the next few weeks. If no objections, will induct them in May

Paul Harris Day – 5/17/2016

-  Betty Mousel has reserved The Ridge to cater – planning on lunch for 60

-  To advise club that meeting time for PHD will be Noon – 1:30 PM – Need to let

-  Dogwood know that meeting will go until 1:30 PM

-  Motion was made that Club assume the cost for additional meals for Paul Harris

-  Day – 25 meals increased to 60

-  Jeff to contact Rich Wheater about having them take pictures for PHD

-  Motion: Scott Crandell

-  Scott Crandell advised that Ray Frodey is not doing well and we should plan on what we will do as a Club. We will use $150.00 out of Miscellanous Funds - $50.00 for flowers and $100.00 to wherever they designate as a charity/organization

-  Second: Bonnie Erber

-  Betty Mousel – water project in Nigeria – Jeff to contact Betty – if she is just looking for $10,000 – we can run project outside of Rotary if she has 10 people that she knows that wants to donate $1,000.00 toward the project

Rotary Pins for Members – I have ordered 25 magnetic Rotary Member pins

-  Bob Jordan let the Board know he will be leaving the end of June – moving to Holland. Wish him the best – we will miss him dearly and hope he stops in and visits us once in a while. Will miss his fines – I have learned things I never would have known.

OTHER BUSINESS

Student of the Month for May. I have talked to both Wes Zerlaut and John Barkel in regards to Student of the Month for April. Advised them that it will be held on Tuesday, May 24. They both agreed to get me the names, etc for this day. Betty has been advised of the change in date for the Student of the Month in regards to lunches and also advised Betty that there is no Student of the Month for June – program runs October – May.
