“We believe that every child is unique, loveable and capable of success.”Sanborn’s Mission Statement
…This Week… / …Coming Up…
What an exciting first week of 3rd grade!
- We played a handful of ‘get to know you’ games and got the opportunity to learn a little bit more about our classmates and teachers.
- We talked with friends and wrote all about our summer vacation. We also designed wallets and dollars for our 3rd grade reward system. We can’t wait to get started! / Next week we will begin Mathand Reading. Your student will need to have a yellow, blue, red and green plastic folders that will stay at school.
Homework! Watch your student’s agenda to find out what their homework is for the night. They will have homework Monday through Thursday and it will be checked in class the next day.
Reminders / Classroom News
  • Please read and sign your student’s agenda every night.
  • Please check your student’s homework folder each night. There are a lot of important papers coming home that need to be reviewed by parents, signed and sent back to school.
  • Please return the following to school ASAP:
  • Welcome Packet
  • Purple and pink papers (Meet the Teacher)
/ Snacks
Your student is invited to bring a healthy snack to school. The snacks will be eaten in the classroom during work time, so we ask that they are quick to eat and aren’t messy.
Examples of healthy snacks:
Veggies or fruit
Granola bars
Crackers
String cheese
You will notice that a small portionof students’ writing homework willinvolve parent participation.
Part of our 3rd grade curriculum states “With guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, and editing” found on page 11 of the ELA curriculum.
