Study Group Schedule

Wednesdays – 5:45 PM to 7:45 PM / March 1 – May 3, 2017

NOTE: THE CFCM EXAM CHANGED APRIL 1, 2016 AND NOW INCLUDES FAR CHANGES THROUGH FEDERAL ACQUISITION CIRCULAR (FAC) 2005-83, WHICH BECAME EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2015.

Participants must attend class week 1 – March 1st. Everyone will be expected to submit three (3) original multiple choice questions related to each week’s reading assignment. Q&A will be submitted weekly to the designated Group Leader (and ) by 5PM on the Monday before class. These Q&As will be compiled for a weekly practice exam taken and reviewed at each class. Volunteers are needed to be Group Leader weekly to review questions and lead discussion. Group leader duties will alternate each week to a different study group participant. Complete reading assignments prior to class time the week they are scheduled. It’s recommended to take the practice test in the back of the CFCM Study Guide prior to the first class to gauge your current knowledge. Recommend writing the answers on a separate sheet of paper, not in the book. Bring a copy of your test results to the first meeting. Please make note of any areas in the practice exam you’d like to talk about for group discussion at the first meeting. Adjustments to the schedule below may occur as necessary to accommodate for unexpected and unforeseen changes.

Mar 01 / Week 1 ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND. Arrive early. Orientation – Prior to this class, take the Study Guide Practice Test (Group Leader – Keisha Simmons, CPCM, CFCM).

Mar 08 / Week 2 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Section 1, pages 1 – 18, review FAR Parts 1*, 2*, 3, 4, & 5 as referenced in the Study Guide, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Mar 15 / Week 3 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Sections 1 & 2, pages 18 – 49, review FAR Parts 6, 7, 8, 9 16, 17, 18, & 10 and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Application review & assistance.

Mar 22 / Week 4 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Sections 2 & 3, pages 49 – 67, review FAR Parts 11, and 12* 13*, 14, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Mar 29 / Week 5 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Section 4, pages 68 – 78, review FAR Part 15*, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Apr 05 / Week 6 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Section 5, pages 79 – 94, review FAR Parts 19*, 22, 23, 24, & 25, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Apr 12 / Week 7 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Section 5, pages 94 – 111, review FAR Parts 26>, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32*, 33, & 34*, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Apr 19 / Week 8 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Sections 5, pages 111 – 116, review FAR Parts 35, & 36, 37*, 38, 39, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

Apr 26 / Week 9 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Section 6, pages 117 – 124, review FAR Parts <41>, 42 & 43*, 44*, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

May 03 / Week 10 Prior to class, read and study CFCM Study Guide Section 6, pages 124 – 130, review FAR Parts 45, 46, 47, 48, & 49, 50, & 51, and prepare three (3) original multiple choice questions related to the FAR sections for this class.

FAR Parts indicated by <X> represent those parts not covered in the study guide.

The Pentagon Chapter will proctor the current version of the CFCM exam in May 2017.

Study Group Registration Fee:

The registration fee for the study group is $79 for NCMA members and $109 for non-members and study materials are not included in the registration fee. PayPal payment is due at the time of registration and the deadline is COB Monday, February 27, 2017. See registration form for full details.

Required Study Group Materials:

Certified Federal Contracts Manager Study Guide (3rd Edition).

This study guide costs $75 (plus tax and shipping) for members and $90 (plus tax and shipping) for non-members and is not included in the registration fee. It can be purchased online at the link below. It will take 3-5 days for shipping, so plan accordingly. Note: The chapter will not be selling the study guide.

Location and Building Access:

4300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 750 / Arlington, VA 22203, in the Ballston Common Mall area. When you enter the first floor lobby of the building, take the elevators to the 7th floor, Suite 750.

The building entrance is located on Wilson Blvd. between Which Wich Sandwich Shop and Cardinal Bank.

Walking Information:

The building is a 4 minute walk from the Ballston-MU Metro. After exiting the metro, head west on Fairfax Drive, turn left on N Taylor Street, cross Wilson Blvd. and the office building will be there slightly to the right.

Parking Information:

You can drive and park in any of the number of parking facilities or street/meter parking located in Arlington and then walk to the building. There may be a small cost associated with parking depending on where you park. Be cautious of parking meters and the time they are enforced. Please be cautious of parking (don’t park in restricted/limited parking lots) and plan accordingly with time.

Paid parking is available in the garage used for the mall. The address is 627 N. Glebe Road. You will have to maneuver through the mall entrance to Wilson Blvd. to get to the study group location. There is also a parking garage located on the access road between Macy’s and Chipotle.

Access to the Conference Room:

It is recommended and preferred that you arrive early to access the building.
