Stubbs Grand Reopening:

On October 18th Longwood University had the Grand Reopening of Stubbs the sorority dorm. The dorm was closed during the 2013-2014 school year for renovations. Alumni were invited back to attend the event, meet the sisters, and tour the newly renovated building. Thank you to everyone who came out! The sisters had a wonderful time!

New Sisters:

On October 23rd, 2014 our three new members Kelsey Carter, Christina Hogan, and Lizzie Smith were initiated into the Alpha Chapter. We could not be happier to call these women our sisters!

Philanthropy:

The month of October was a big month for the Alpha Chapter’s participation with the Robbie Page Memorial Fund. Some sisters had the opportunity of going to the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. They playing games and made crafts with the children visiting the play atrium. Our Third Annual Fall Festivaltook place on October 25th, 2014. We raised almost $300 and will continue to fundraise throughout the next week.

-October 5th-11th: Jennifer Winter for getting the chapter involved in CPC’s Circle of Sisterhood week!

-October 12th-18th: Allison Burley and Danielle Whitehurst for planning a great chapter room for the reopening!

-October 19th-25th: Heather Hopkins for teaching our new members about Tri Sigma!

-October 26th-31st: Laura Albrecht and Katlin Oliver for planning great sisterhood activities!

Sister(s) of the Month:

Our three sisters of the month are Kelsey Carter, Christina Hogan, & Lizzie Smith for becoming newly initiated sisters!

-October 1st- Melissa Cacho turned 20!

-October 8th- Sarah Ott turned 23!

-October 10th- Courtney McFadden turned 21!

-October 16th- Leah Golden turned 22!

Fun Fact of the Month:Get in the Halloween Spirit! Longwood had a Haunted Oktoberfest this year and four of our sisters had the pleasure of participating in the parade as spirit leaders and klowns!
