FEBRUARY SECOND COLLECTIONS

February 25/26 Health Wagon

HEALTH WAGON SECOND COLLECTION

The need for health care is ever growing here in southwest Virginia. The Health Wagon remains dedicated and strongly committed to serving the health care needs of the uninsured, underinsured, and disenfranchised in the mountains of Appalachia in Southwest Virginia. The Health Wagon has seen an increase of new patients that are seeking care who were previously covered by insurant. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated. Without the support and collaboration or organizations such as the Catholic Diocese of Richmond and the individual supporters within, our work and our mission would not be possible.

2017 ANNUAL DIOCESAN APPEAL:

Building Our Family of Faith

The Difference Between Living Our Mission

and the Annual Appeal

Many of you may have already received a letter from Bishop DiLorenzo asking for your support of the 2017 Annual Diocesan Appeal. We hope you will give prayerful consideration to this request.

An important aspect of the Appeal is that all parishes receive back a portion of their funds collected to be used for important local priorities.

The Appeal not only provides an opportunity for you to support important ministries that impact many programs outside of our parish boundaries, it also supports the services the Diocese provides directly to our parish. In complement to the funds returned to our parish through the parish sharing formula, the Appeal also benefits us through the following ministries and programs. Support has been given to Bread for Life in the amount of $3500 through the Fuel and Hunger Fund grant.

All pledges can be paid in ten monthly installments which makes it easy to support the important ministries of our Diocesan Church while also supporting our parish needs. Thank you in advance for your partnership in the 2017 Appeal.

UPDATED PARISHIONER REGISTRATION

We are in the process of updating our parishioner data base. Letters were sent out at the end of January for parishioners to update registrations. If you have been attending regularly and have not received an update letter, please contact the office with updated information. If you are not registered and would like to register, registration forms are available on the top shelf of the magazine rack located in the Commons. Thank you.

MINISTRY HEADS

As an issue of Diocesan Risk Management, please turn in your church key if you no longer participate as the Chair of a Parish Ministry. Our control amounts of 40 keys are all issued at this time so we have no spares for functions as they are non-duplicable. Please let Deb know if you have conveyed your key and to whom. Thanks for your cooperation!

PLEA FOR BINGO AND CONCESSIONS

To all Parishioners:

I am making a most heartfelt plea that you consider to volunteer and join our Stewardship ministry on Monday nights. We have several openings in leadership positions, as well as other areas, that are in desperate need of your help. We require volunteers to lead in our kitchen, to manage gaming, and to serve as treasurer. If any of these are your talent and you feel called to serve, please contact me. Without a new team to take over and continue the running of bingo, we will cease to operate.

Thank you, Terry Greer 824-9028
