College of MVLS Graduate School University of Glasgow

New and Continuing Clinical Lectureships: Summary Case for Support

Nominations from Heads of School for the continuation or establishment of Clinical Lectureships within the College of MVLS should be submitted to the Clinical Academic Training and Advisory Committee (CATAC). The Committee Secretariat will coordinate responses from the Education and Research Strategy Committees and NES and will develop the case in conjunction with central College administration and College Executive. It should be noted that NES-funded Clinical Lecturer posts carry with them the expectation that 80% of the time will be devoted to clinical activity and training and 20% of time protected for academic endeavour. This is in keeping with the national recommendations prepared by Professor John Saville and mirrors similar posts in England and Wales. The percentages for University-funded posts are more flexible.

This completed proforma, accompanied by a detailed job description, should be submitted to the Clinical Academic Training and Advisory Committee, C/o Anne Stewart, College of MVLS Graduate School, Wolfson Medical School Building.
