2013 SUITLAND FARMERS MARKET

FARMER/PRODUCER GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION

Tuesday, June 4th through Tuesday, November 5th

Market Operation: The Suitland Farmers and Artists Market opens Tuesday, June 4th. We plan to operate through Tuesday, November 5th. Hours of operation will be 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Once accepted by the Market, vendors may participate for the remainder of the season and need not re-apply until the next season. Applications may be received via email, mail or in person.

Please Note: Vendors must apply for the 2013 season by April 30th, 2013. We encourage earlier

return if possible. Farmer/producers are expected to attend every Tuesday for the entire season;

please notify us if you expect to miss a market day.

Location: Suitland Mini Park on Shadyside Avenue and Suitland Road, Suitland, Maryland

Cost: $225.00 per space, for the season (about 10 wide x 20 deep, with vehicle). Checks, cash, or

Paypal only. Checks should be made payable to STEER Center. Please submit

full payment before May 30th. Vendors must comply with Maryland Sales Tax laws.

Canopy: Each vendor will provide his or her own 10’ x 10’ canopy, with weights for windy

conditions, and take responsibility for setup and teardown. Anyone with inadequate

weights may be asked to leave - this is a safety issue. Each vendor will also display a

neat, legible sign identifying the business.

Terms and Conditions:

Ø  Vendors must conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Ø  Vendors are expected to be completely set up before the Market opens, and agree to sell during the entire duration of the market day, unless Market closes due to bad weather.

Ø  Vendors must comply with all federal, state and local regulations.

Ø  Vendors will confine food to assigned space. (only pre-cooked foods)

Ø  Vendors are responsible for conduct of family and friends.

Ø  No pets are allowed.

Ø  Vendors may not 'hawk' their wares.

Ø  Vendors must provide garbage receptacles for any waste generated by their wares, and remove

their own garbage from the market. Receptacles provided by the Market are intended for the use of our customers and guests.

Ø  There is no smoking at the Market.

Ø  Vendors must comply with all Prince George’s County Health Laws. The Market can provide contact information and guidance, if needed.

Termination: The Market reserves the right to terminate the agreement at any time. All terms and

conditions shall survive termination.
