1.  DECISIONS

a.  ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Due to pressure of work on GG & in view of the importance of developing our marketing strategy SP proposed JH to take over as RC Marketing & GG will be offered another RC role.

·  GP to become RC Cruising & MD will become RC Fleet (replaces RC Offshore)

·  Line management of Ops Manager & Principal to remain with VC

·  Intro to Sailing days to come under RC Cruising portfolio & selection of right skippers with appropriate briefing is vital to their success

·  In view of the proposed separation of House & Marketing responsibilities RC House to take future responsibility for Estate management & Club moorings from RC Works.

·  RC Power to take responsibility for Powerboat maintenance from RC Works & also PB management & processes

·  RE appointed as Social Media Manager

b.  PRICES/EXPENSES FOR 2017

Charter

·  Yacht charter – remain the same. Target to increase by 10%

·  Powerboat charter - awaits business case from RE re purchase of new boat & running costs etc.

Course fees

·  2017 sailing & shorebased course prices as proposed & circulated by AM were agreed – increase of £10 per 5-day practical & £4/£5 for 1 & 2-day courses. 2017 courses can be booked at 2016 prices until 31 December 2016.

·  Power courses – awaits purchase of suitable boat or arranging a training partnership to deliver L2.

Cruise fees

Similar pricing structure to 2016

Instructor & skippers fees

No increase to all daily rates

Subscriptions

Subs to remain the same

c.  MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING

·  Noted that JB & PO were currently chasing about 300 members who were shown on the membership database but who weren’t currently paying subs. 35 of 86 new members in 2016 were Associate members most of whom were booking courses, cruises & charters. Agreed that the maximum % of Associate members should be increased from 10% to 15%

·  RE currently runs 'MPSC members' Facebook page but requires access to MPSC FB account to make posts. JH to notify PO who set up MPSC page & currently owns it.

d.  TRAINING

·  To correct a misconception & minutes of Exec meeting on 7 September RE/MP clarified that if the TMUK RIB was to be used for MPSC L2 training they did not insist on only using TMUK instructors but MPSC instructors could instruct on the RIB providing they were familiarised & approved by TMUK.

·  If L2 students have no navigational experience they will be encouraged to take the online Essential Navigation & Seamanship (ENS) course prior to their L2 course.

·  Consider continuing to running L2 courses on TMUK RIB with familiarisation on new PB at the end of the course to save making too many modifications to new PB to make it RYA PB-scheme compliant

e.  FLEET

·  Agreed to have AIS transponders fitted to all MPSC vessels if feasible

·  Target to increase charter by 10% for 2017

·  Re RIB sale a reserve price of £20k was agreed

·  Noted the MP Angling Section may be interested in use ofproposed new powerboat (Merry Fisher type), if itis to be used for sea-fishing then the charter rate should include an additional payment to allow deep cleaning before the next charter

·  In view of damage issues with Hot Pursuit new powerboat will require a more robust handover & return procedure with photos taken of prop & skeg & consider damage deposit system

f.  CRUISES

·  Newcomers Cruises to be marketed @ Intro days but also consider introducing single Daysail cruises to complement Intro days or for novice members & by scheduling them on consecutive days make them a slightly longer day

·  Consider including new PB in cruising plans for multi-boat short club cruises etc.

g.  RACING

·  In absence of MP qualifying event this year our recentWorld Champs Offshores crews of John Oldham & Mason King wereagreed as MPAA funding recipients for 2017

·  MP hosting PSUK Dinghy Champs in 2017 at Stokes Bay SC 20-22 June. MPSC to support with helpers & £500 budget approved if required

2.  BUSINESS PLAN 3-YEAR PRIORITIES

y1 2017

·  POs paper re Cheeki Rafiki fleet management issues discussed & agreed that all currentRisk Assessments need reviewing & areas ofclub business & processesfor further RAs to beidentified

·  Business continuity plans & options forOps Team succession planning to be considered

·  New powerboat to be purchased & commissioned for 2017 season (contingent on sale of RIB)

·  Improve marketing & survey members

y2-3 2018-19
