Class Meetings – This month’s topics of discussion for our OLWEUS class meetings focus on respecting and promoting acceptance: our families, Golden Rule, respect, manners, helping others, welcoming others, etc. Please take a moment to chat with your child about showing respect for everyone around him/her.

Curriculum Connection – As spring comes around, students become more involved in outside activities. One thing to work on is how to balance all the things they want to do with the work they need to do – studying, homework, etc. Setting a schedule with upcoming events and projects that are due will help your child to plan ahead and work steadily at the necessary tasks without becoming overwhelmed. Another good skill to work on is prioritizing what needs to be done first and what can wait. Helping your child manage multiple activities at a time will be a skill they can use throughout their lives.

Pre-K Registration – Pre-K registration for the 2017-18 school year is open. You can go online to www.berkeleycountyschools.org/domain/7 to get the necessary forms and information. You can also pick up the forms at Marlowe Elementary or Pikeside Pre-K office.

Kindergarten Registration – Please call the school to schedule an appointment if you have a child who will be 5 before September 1st.

·  If you are currently in a Berkeley County Schools Pre-K, you only need to bring your child, proof of residency, and your updated shot records.

·  Students new to BCS need to bring your child, shot records, official birth certificate, and proof of residency.
