1.0 Logging In:

Go to to login to your MyCoyote account:

Type your Coyote Identification number in the User ID: box and Password in the Password: box. Select the button.ge

3.0 EnrollingIn Early Start Courses:

To enroll in Early Start courses, go to the Academics section and select the Enroll In Early Start link.

If you do not have the Enroll in Early Start link under the Academics section of your Student Center page, go to section 4.0, on page 14 of this tutorial for ways to troubleshoot.

A message will appear on your screen to inform you of the status of your Financial Aid Waiver for your Early Start course(s). Read the message and click .

You will be on the Enroll tab. Select to search for the open sections in Early Start English and math.

Use the drop down in the Course Subject field in the Class Search Criteria box.

For Early Start English (ESE), enter 99 in the Course Number box. For Early Start Math (ESM), enter 15A, 15B, or 15C as appropriate in the Course Number box. The example shown is for ESE 99.

Determine the open course section you will complete as your Early Start Program requirement from the results. Consider how the dates the course will span over and how the time of the day the course will be offered will affect your own schedule before making your selection. Then click on.

Once you find an open section to fit your summer schedule, click to add the course to your shopping cart.

Select to process your request for course(s).

View a sucessful result. If you have not selected the right coursebased on your score results, messaging will direct you.

3.1 Early Start Math Course Locations:

Students enrolling in ESM courses will have the option of completing courses at CSUSB’s main campus, our Palm Desert Campus, at Norco College. You will be able to determine the location the course you are selecting will be found in the Room box.

4.0 Soultions To When There Is No Enroll In Early Start Link:

If you do not see the Enroll in Early Start link under the Academics section of your Student Center page, determine whether the following steps have been completed:

Did you choose CSUSB to complete the Early Start Program on your student portal?

  • If the answer to this question is Yes, continue to the next solution question.
  • If the answer to this question is No, stop and return to your student portal to choose CSUSB as your destination to complete the Early Start Program.

Has it been at least two days since you signed up to complete the Early Start Program at CSUSB?

  • If the answer to this question is Yes, continue to the next solution question.
  • If the answer to this question is No, stop and please wait at least two days after you signed up for the Early Start Program at CSUSB to see if the Enroll in Early Start Program link appears under the Academics section of your Student Center page.

Where did you confirm your plan of attendance for the fall term?

  • If the answer to this question is CSUSB, you are considered a Destination student at CSUSB. Please contact the Office of Admissions at (909) 537-7381 for further solutions.
  • If the answer to this question is another CSU campus, you are considered a Service student at CSUSB. Check the student portal at the CSU you have confirmed you will attend in the fall term to be sure you selected CSUSB as the campus you will complete the Early Start Program.
  • If you have selected CSUSB as the campus you will complete the Early Start Program and you have received a notice from CSUSB telling you how to access the student portal at CSUSB in relation to the Early Start Program, please contact the CSUSB Office of Admissions at (909) 537-7381 for further solutions.
