PRODUCER PROJECT PROFILE SUBMISSION FORM
(for producers applying with script-stage projects for 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap)
Background
· The central component of MIFF 37ºSouth Market, MIFF’s 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap is a feature film financing market for producers with developed/market-ready projects staged in the opening four days of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). It comprises:
o Scheduled one-to-one meetings for registered producers with selected local and international film financiers/buyers;
o Roundtable group meetings with Australian distributors and international film financiers/buyers;
o Public panel sessions discussing current feature film issues;
o Networking events.
· Producers are selected for 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap meetings either from proposed financing plans for developed scripts or on the basis of representing a completed film that seeks a sales agent and/or local distributor
Also returning at MIFF 37ºSouth Market will be:
· 37ºSouth: Breakthru Screenings: Screenings for invited international and local buyers of selected new Australia/NZ films seeking world sales agents and/or local distribution (plus follow-up meetings with buyers for the producers of these films at 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap)
· 37ºSouth also includes 37ºSouth’s Books at MIFF (BaM), promoting links and business between publishers, film financiers and producers to foster book-to-film adaptations, which comprises:
o a case-study panel discussion on recent adaptations and public pitching by publishers of up to 10 books they want to see made into films
o scheduled one-to-one meetings for publishers with film producers & financiers and a Networking event
· 37ºSouth: Post Script & Direct: providing scriptwriters and directors with the opportunity to meet with 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap’s registered producers.
37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap submission/registration conditions:
· This application form is ONLY for Australian/NZ producers with ‘market-ready’ (ie, developed and ready to show to the international marketplace) feature films (drama or theatrical documentary) who seek to pitch their project to MIFF 37ºSouth Market’s invited local and international financiers, which includes world sales agents, studios, distributors, equity and gap funds, etc.
· Selected “lead” producers will have a diary of meetings set for them by MIFF 37ºSouth Market staff and will be included in various networking events with the financiers/buyers. By applying, producers are agreeing to be available for the entire days of 30 July – 02 August 2015 inclusive.
· Costs of transport to, and accommodation in, Melbourne is to be covered by the producer.
· By applying producers are agreeing to take meetings with financiers/buyers as well as publishers.
· Producers gain selection to MIFF 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap on the basis of the market-readiness of the lead project – so a fully completed application form is a must and the more finance demonstrably attached to your project the better your chances of securing one of the available slots! Incomplete application forms may render your project ineligible for consideration.
· Therefore, please fully complete the form and by applying you agree that if your film is selected, the completed forms will be included in the project booklet distributed to invited sales agents/distributors. (The books will not be circulated beyond this group). Please note that it is VERY IMPORTANT that you provide the full information on the form. If you are selected to participate at MIFF 37ºSouth Market, this 2-page form becomes your entry in the confidential project book for financiers and the financiers then make their selections for who they wish to meet on the basis of that entry. So, your application form is a crucial document that serves two important functions: (1) it is the basis upon which the decision to select you to participate is made; and (2) it is the basis upon which the financiers will determine if they wish to meet you. Please note that by applying, you agree that meetings are at the choice of the financing guests and that 37ºSouth cannot guarantee the number of meetings that you will be selected for by the guests.
· While producers are selected for participation on the basis of the market-ready project, once taking meetings, producers are encouraged to quickly pitch the rest of their slate.
· Only ONE producer per project will receive a photo lanyard entitling them for entry to 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap meetings, events and functions. Extra members of the creative team are not eligible for entry to the market floor. If producers of the other (non-lead) projects on your slate wish to also attend MIFF 37ºSouth Market, they may submit a separate application using the other project on your slate as their lead project. If both projects are selected you may elect to take meetings together if you wish. Please indicate on your application if you wish to link with another applicant for meetings should you both be selected. Please note that by applying, you agree to the one producer per application/lanyard rule.

MIFF 37ºSouth: PostScript&Direct (PS&D) offers scriptwriters/directors the chance to meet with 37South’s registered producers. If you are interested to meet with writers/directors and if you: (1) volunteer to do this (for a two-hour block of one-to-one meetings plus a networking event); (2) are then subsequently selected by 37ºSouth organizers to participate in PS&D; and (3) attend PS&D and complete the meetings; then you will be eligible for a $55 discount on your 37ºSouth registration fee for 37ºSouth’s 2016 edition should you be selected for 37ºSouth 2016 and should you request the discount.

Producer Benefits
If your application is successful, your registration will entitle you to:
· All MIFF 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap lead projects will be automatically eligible for consideration for the only guaranteed Australian/NZ slots at London’s Production Finance Market (PFM). Under the MIFF 37ºSouth Market-PFM Alliance, three lucky 37ºSouth producers will receive free registration and meetings at the October PFM.
