Get Out Get Active Programme Manager

Role purpose

EFDS is responsible for the successful delivery of an exciting programme to find new ways of enabling disabled and non-disabled people to “Get Out Get Active” together.
This post holder, with support of the project and partner resources, will ensure achievement of all GOGA programme objectives including:
  • Engaging 16,500 individual participants
  • Taking part in over 550 different activities across the UK
  • With a total number of activities that individuals will attend over the three years across the UK being over 450,000

Key responsibilities

  1. Ensure effective programme management, implementation, evaluation and review of the GOGA programme.
  2. Manage the relationship with Spirit of 2012 and other UK, national and local partners.
  3. Develop and implement the comprehensive plan for the GOGA programme, ensuring the legacy of the programme after funding.
  4. Work with the externally contracted Evaluator to develop the monitoring and evaluation framework for GOGA and oversee implementation and dissemination.
  5. Where necessary, revise programme delivery in line with Monitoring and Evaluation feedback.
  6. Develop project marketing and communication plans for GOGA and oversee implementation.
  7. Prepare and manage all budgets relevant to the GOGA programme, ensuring full accountability from all locality managers and funded partners.
  8. Maintain an awareness of key issues, reports, legislation etc. relating to the GOGA programme and ensure appropriate action where required.
  9. Manage relationships with the national and local lead partners for the GOGA programme.
  10. Develop and implement matrix management systems for local lead officers.
  11. Contribute to the development of policy frameworks and action plans for EFDS and partners on inclusive active recreation.
  12. Any other responsibilities appropriate to the level and purpose of the role, as agreed with line Manager.

Contribution to the work of EFDS and Partner organisations

  1. To work as a central member of the EFDS leadership team to achieve the key organisational outcomes.
  2. Support the development of organisational, staff and volunteer skills on the subject of inclusive active recreation.
  3. To work closely with EFDS colleagues and stakeholder partners to ensure all are fully engaged and informed of the work of the GOGA programme and other related work.
  4. Produce and present reports to the GOGA UK Strategy group and National steering groups in relation to the GOGA programme and other related work.
  5. To be the main point of contact for EFDS with Spirit of 2012.

Other requirements of role

Ability to travel independently across the UK and willing to work away from normal place of work as required. The post holder will need the flexibility to work some unsocial hours including evenings and weekends.
