SUBJECT:Training and Orientation forNew Directors/Coordinators in Admissions & Records, CalWORKs, CARE, DSPS and EOPS Programs

Synopsis: The Chancellor’s Office will hold its annual training and orientation for new directors and coordinators in Admissions & Records, CalWORKs, CARE, DSPS, and EOPS programs the week of September18, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Sacramento Downtown-Arena.

This training and orientation, designed for new directors/coordinators who have been in their position as ofFiscal Year 2015-16 or later,provides an opportunity to learn program history and requirements, and to dialogue with peers and experienced colleagues. The Chancellor’s Office may approve additional staffto attend without reimbursement, if space permits.

To request registration, please follow the links in the table below for each day you plan on attending. The Chancellor’s Office will review registration and confirm your attendance. Travel arrangements should not be made until you receiveconfirmation from the Chancellor’s Office.

A block of rooms has been reserved for this event. To secure your room at the state rate of $95 single/$136 double, please use the 2017 New Directors Training link or contact them directly on or before
August 18, 2017; reservations made after this date, will be at a higher rate. The Chancellor’s Office will reimburse attendees approved at the state rate of $95. plus tax. Changes to hotel reservations must be made prior to 6:00 p.m. on the date of arrival to avoid being charged for one night’s lodging.

NOTE: Travel arrangements should not be made until you receive confirmation from the Chancellor’s Office.

Super Shuttle will provide shuttle service between the Sacramento Airport and the Holiday Inn Sacramento at a discount of 10% available online only.The City of Sacramento has offered a discounted rate of $10 per day for attendees at their parking garage, which is located next door to the Holiday Inn.

The following expenses willnot be reimbursed:

  • Rental cars (unless prior approval was obtained based on special circumstances)
  • Transportation between the Sacramento Airport and the Holiday Inn exceeding $20.00 each way;
  • Valet airport and/or hotel parking, internet charges, and lodging that exceeds the state rate of $95.00 plus tax.
  • Additional staffwho were approved to attend without reimbursement.
