This is a unique opportunity for you to join a successful IT Team in a role that is responsible for the provision of 1st line IT support as the first point of contact for our staff and services across the organisation

As a genuine ‘people person’, you will provide high class IT support to the organisation via the phone, remotely or deskside visits and able to communicate at all levels throughout the business demonstrating our company values of Integrity, Ambition, Courage, Compassion, Optimism, Respect and Dignity.

You will support the IT Manager and your peers helping to promote a positive culture and support staff to use IT effectively for their roles as we drive towards our vision of being an entirely dignified and outstanding organisation.

What can you expect?

As a level 1 IT Support Officer you will support the IT function within the charity. You will work closely with our services and central office staff who provide support to adults and children throughout our schools, care homes, community and social work services.

We do seek to have a good work life balance and the Central Office in Liverpool closes promptly at 6pm.

Travel is expected mainly within the boundaries of the Liverpool City Region although on occasion, wider travel may be called for. Whilst at central office you can expect your own desk in the IT office, free parking, and the technology you need to perform your role. We also offer a pension scheme with contributions being matched by Nugent, ample annual leave (30 days including bank holidays) and expression of wish (In the event of death whist in service your expression of wish will receive a year’s salary tax free) as well as sickness benefits.

What you will need for this exciting role:

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence at all levels, which you will use to develop positive relationships to promote the organisation and assist to meet our objectives.
  2. A Microsoft Certified Professionalqualification or equivalent (or a good working knowledge) and a minimum oftwo years working experience in a 1st or 2nd line IT support role.
  3. Experience of supporting Microsoft operating systems, software, hardware and networks with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues using remote tools.
  4. Ability to work under own initiative whilst supporting colleagues and IT users as well as taking direction from the IT Manager and within the team.
  5. A track record of working on an ITIL led support desk, working as part of a team with a keen attention to detail, being committed, enthusiastic and reliable who can follow through tasks to completion within agreed IT service levels andhelp identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  6. Ability to assist projects in line with expectations.
  7. A willingness to uphold and live out our values and behaviours at all times.

Nugent was founded to have a dramatic impact on the lives of thousands of vulnerable people. We are the social welfare arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool.
