NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION -SUMMER 2014

The Nonprofit Leadership Development Program, sponsored by National Penn Bank, (formerly KNBT) will provide structured professional development for students serving as interns with local nonprofits. The program will consist of a series of roughly 5-6 speaker sessions on a range of topics regarding nonprofit management and the current issues nonprofits face. These seminars will be held on Fridays. Students will also be awarded a Certificate of completion.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

·  Attach a copy of the internship description for the summer internship you have obtained.

·  Attach a copy of the offer letter from the employer.

·  Attach a current resume.

·  Submit names and contact information of two references.

·  Attach responses (100-250 words each) to the short essay questions listed below.

1.  Why have you chosen to intern at a non-profit this summer, and what skills do you hope to gain (or enhance) from the experience?

2.  Why are you interested in participating in the Non-Profit Leadership Development Program, and what do you hope to gain from your participation?

ELIGIBILITY

·  Student MUST have an internship with a Lehigh Valley non-profit organization secured at the time of application.

·  Student must be a current first year, sophomore or junior who will be returning as a student in fall 2013.

·  The internship must be at least 140 hours.

·  Student must be in good academic and social standing.

·  Student must be available for all of the Friday sessions.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Applications are accepted, and decisions are made on a rolling basis. Applications must be submitted to Career Services no later than May 2nd.
