IC – The flowers on the altar this week: In honor of the 60thWedding Anniversary of Jack & Grace Heinlein.
SJ & IC: Our religious education program begins today, Sunday, Sept. 10th. IC's program will have classes twice a month (Sept.10th & 24th); each session will be from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. SJ's program will be as usual; every Sunday after the 8 AM Mass, from 9 AM to 9:50 AM. Both parishes have teachers for all grades, substitute teachers are needed.
IC PARISH COUNCIL will have a meeting on Monday, September 11th at 7 PM in Marian Hall.
CEMETERY ASSOC. MEETING will be held on Tuesday, September 12th at 7 PM in Marian Hall.
SJ ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETYmeeting will be held on Tuesday, September 12th beginning with Rosary at 6:30 PM.

SJ & IC: At the request of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, we will support the Bishops’ Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund by taking up a second collection during the weekend of September 16-17, 2017. Please use a plain white envelope marked “HARVEY” for this purpose. All gifts large and small will be appreciated and are greatly needed.

SJ & IC: The Forest Hills Clergy Ministerium willsponsor a Family Faith Festival on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at the Berwind Westside Park in Saint Michael’s. Youth events (grades 7-12) begin at 3:00 pm, followed by a covered dish dinner at 5:30 pm, and a Family Faith Prayer service at 7:00 pm. Although there is no charge for the dinner, and the meats, rolls and buns, and drinks will be provided, please bring a covered side dish to be shared.
BENEDICTINE ANNUAL APPEAL: A collection in response to the Benedictine Appeal will be taken up in both SJ & IC parishes. The purpose of this collection is to help meet the St. Vincent Archabbey Community’s educational and health care needs. The appeal will be at both parishes on September 23rd & 24th. The collection will be taken up the weekend of Sept. 30/Oct. 1. The special envelope for this collection is in your pack of envelopes in the month of September. There will be extra envelopes in the back of both churches.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: St. John Church, Summerhill will sponsor a community lab blood screening event on Saturday, November 11th from 7 AM to 9 AM in the social hall. More details later.
CAMBRIA/SOMERSET WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S on Saturday, September 23rd at Windber Recreation Park.
