Just For Fun Fellowship for Fishawack Scouters: All Scouters are invited for a time of informal fellowship on Thursday, April 24 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Lake Hiawatha Firehouse, 39 North Beverwyck Road. This is a non-uniform event. $15 for soda, beer and pizza. Pay at the door. No charge for any 2014 Fishawack’s Finest recipient! Invite your old friends who have been out of Scouting for a while so they can reconnect.

Spring Recruiting: Training for spring recruiting will be held on April 7, from 7:30- 9:00 pm at the council service center in Cedar Knolls. Send someone from your pack to learn how to sign up Kindergarteners as your new Tigers in April and May. Invite them to recruitment events and as guests at some pack activities and their registration takes effect on June 1.

Boy Scout Spring Camporee: Geocaching will be the theme at the Fishawack Boy Scout Spring Camporee, May 2-4, 2014 at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Camp Somers. Registration is online and closes on April 25. For more information, contact Gary Treubig, 973-332-9072.

Arrow of Light Scouts as Spring Camporee: Arrow of Light Scouts can attend if coming with a troop. No fee for AOL and their parent. Contact your local troops to see if they are attending. For more info, contact Gary Treubig, 973-332-9072.

2014 Cub Scout Gold Rush: A rip-roaring time, June 8 at Wild West City in Stanhope, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Cub Scouts will test the skills they learned in earning their latest rank. Dens can bring their own wagon or you can mix boys of different ranks. Wild West City is open 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, so come early or stay late. Online registration will open April 1 through the Fishawack Calendar at www.ppbsa.org. Registration closes May 24. One person should register all boys from your pack.

Beaver Day: On April 26, packs and troops can do service projects at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation or Winnebago Scout Reservation. Register online through the council calendar at www.ppbsa.org.

Fall Boy Scout Camporee: October 10-12 at Camp Wheeler, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation.

Fall Cubelos: Put it on your pack calendar now. The Fishawack Cubelos will be October 18-19 at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation Camp Somers. BB guns, archery, zip line, rock throwing, plus camping with your pack.

Popcorn: Our popcorn campaign can help your unit purchase new equipment, fund a special trip or keep your dues low. A successful campaign can do all this. Send your kernel to one of our training sessions to learn the best practices and get extra commission for your sale. Trainings will be on 4/16, 4/29, 5/6, 5/20 and 6/2. Leader Specific Training: BALOO training (packs need at least 1 BALOO trained leader for camping) can be taken on May 10 at the Watchung Reservation.

Boy Scout Leader Specific will be given May 3 in Pluckemin.

Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills will be given on May 16-18 at Winnebago Scout Reservation.

Cub Scout Leader Specific training is available at www.myscouting.org.

Registration for all courses is online through the council calendar at www.ppbsa.org.
