Level Two Alpine Race Officials Course

A Level 2 Alpine Race Officials Course will be held at SportPark, Loughborough University, 3 Oakwood Drive, Loughborough. LE11 3QF on Saturday and Sunday 25/26 November 2017

This course will be run by Snowsport England and is available for anyone registered as an Official with Snowsport England. (Registration as an official is free.)

Participants must have previously attended a level 1 course and to get the most from this course have some experience carrying out officials roles at ski race events.

The course will be led by experienced British TD’s on both artificial and alpine events.

The course is a full 2days and covers in detail the following elements on both artificial and alpine surfaces.

  • Understanding courses
  • Role of the Chief Gate Judge
  • Role of the Chief of Race
  • Role of the Referee
  • Roles of the Start and Finish Referee
  • Overview of Race Secretary Role
  • Role of the Jury in a Protest
  • Jury Course Inspection

There is no exam, no pass or fail, the course will give a very detailed understanding of the roles listed and the knowledge to carry out these roles at a race and once the suitable experience has been gained to move on to be assessed to become a level 2 official.

The cost of this course is subsidised by Snowsport England, but a contribution of £50 is required per participant to cover both days including all refreshments and a buffet lunch.
