John Ball Primary School is looking for a Learning Support Assistant with experience of working with children with social and emotional difficulties.You will be working witha pupil with a statement of SEN. Successful candidates will have good understanding and experience of balancing the complex individual social and emotional needs of a child whilst maintaining a sense of fairness in class. A good understanding of child development and key skills in encouraging yet challenging a child to achieve academically and socially within this setting is required. The ability to work collaboratively with parents, the class team and other professionals in a busy, vibrant school team is also essential. Good literacy and numeracy skills as well as effective ICT skills are necessary.

The post is for 19hours per week across 5 days (we may be able to offer some flexibility with hours).

We have a current school roll of 580 pupils and are gradually expanding to 3 forms of entry across the school; a fantastic extension and refurbishment of our building is helping us realize this.

John Ball School is situated in the heart of Blackheath Village in South East London with good transport links to London & Kent.

Salary Details:

You will be paid on Lewisham’s pay scale, scale 3, spine point 15, £20,217 to spine point 17, £20,985. The salary will be pro-rata and term time only. Therefore, the actual salary will equate to £9132 to £9479 per year.
