Dear Parent,
Congratulations! Your child has been promoted to Sixth Grade and will begin school on September 7, 2016. Your child should be brought to school no later than 8:55 am and will enter and exit via Door #5. Please note that parents will be permitted to escort their child directly to the classroom for the first two (2) days of school only. This will give parents an opportunity to briefly meet their child’s teacher. All parents must exit the building after they have dropped off their child, so the instructional day may begin. (Parents who need to speak to a teacher at length should please write a note asking for an appointment or telephone conference.) The official hours for Grade Six are 8:55 am to 3:10 pm. Students who want to have breakfast should arrive at 8:15 am through Door #3.
In anticipation of the start of a new school year, the teachers of Grade Six have prepared a list of school supplies you should purchase for your youngster. Please note that your child should bring these items the first day of school. They are as follows:
2 Pkgs of Blue/Black Ballpoint Pens (no erasable) 6 Bottom Pocket Folders
1 Pair of Safety Scissors 2 Boxes of Tissues
1 Pkg. Highlighters 1 Large Glue Stick
1 Soft Pencil Case (no boxes) 1 Box Colored Pencils
1 Roll Scotch Tape 1 Pkg. #2 Pencils (sharpened)
1 Pkg. Post Its 1 Box Gallon Size Ziploc Bags
1 Black Low Odor Dry Erase Marker 8 Marble Notebooks (Black & White Only)
1 Pkg. Loose Leaf Paper *Recommended Supply: USB Drive
Lined Index Cards (Small)
NOTE: No spiral or loose leaf notebooks. Please remember to label all items with your child’s name and class. No magic markers please. It would also be helpful if extra supplies were kept at home to replenish used items, such as notebooks and pens.
