Welsh Schools Rugby Union Junior Group National 10-a-Side Tournament

Following our success at the annual Keith Grice Memorial Tens in the Autumn Term 2016, Mynydd Cynffig Primary School will be Bridgend’s representatives at the Welsh Schools Rugby Union Junior Group National 10-a-Side Tournament at Dunvant RFC in Swansea on Thursday 18th May 2017. Matches will commence at 11 a.m.

Isabella Warlow (Class 12)

Many congratulations to Year 5 pupil Isabella Warlow (Class 12) who competed at the British Championships at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool last weekend as a member of the Dance Crazy Team. On Saturday 22nd April, the Formation team, which included Isabella, were crowned British Champions ahead of 22 other teams from all over the United Kingdom. Then, on the following day, Isabella performed as a member of the Marvel 4 Couple team which finished 4th out of 28 teams, completing a very successful weekend for the Dance Crazy Studios. Llongyfarchiadau Isabella!

Ioan Billins (Class 11)

Many congratulations to Year 5 pupil Ioan Billins (Class 11) who took part in the Welsh Field Archery Association Spring Shoot at the Red Kite Club course near Carmarthen last weekend. Ioan achieved a personal best combined score of 566 points which earned him the gold medal in the Cub Freestyle Recurve category. Ardderchog Ioan!

Mrs Powis (Class 12)

Many congratulations to Year 5 teacher Mrs Leanne Powis who completed her very first marathon in London last weekend in a time of 4 hours 57 minutes and seven seconds. Mrs Powis has raised around £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
