BOOK PROJECTS

7th Grade Reading: FOUR projects are due each semester. After you read a novel, choose one of the boxes below and complete a project for the novel. You have to choose a different project for each novel that you read. Make sure you follow the directions carefully. Watch for smiley faces. You may turn your project in before the due date. You must read the book during the dates assigned. (You are not allowed to use books that you have read previously.)

Grades:
Use a journalistic style and write a news story about something that happened to one of the characters. Remember: news stories follow the format of who, what, when, where, why, and how.

 / Create a cereal box for your book. Give it a creative name and illustrate the front. Look to real cereals for inspiration. Instead of ingredients on one side, list the characters with brief descriptions. On the other side, describe the setting. On the back, describe the basic plot.

Date turned in: / Write a letter to a movie producer to convince him to make the book into a movie. Explain why the story, characters, conflicts, etc. would make a good film. Maybe suggest a filming location or actors. (Do not choose a book that has already been made into a movie.)

Rewrite the story as a picture book, as for a child. It should be at least 8 pages with text/picture on each.
