Lead Technologist of Quality Care and MarketingStanislaus Surgical Hospital Precision Imaging

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assures and assists Lead Technologist of Production on staffing of an adequate number of appropriately trained Technologists according to current and future volumes and diagnostics tests
  • Assists with research of equipment and service needs with venders for selection of new products and or equipment; recommends and / or participates in the selection of new medical and non medical equipment for departments. Assists with site preparation and installation of new equipment; maintains stock level of all material and supplies used in Radiology; assists with computer system maintenance including trouble shooting to minimize computer downtime; updates of current system as necessary
  • As a working supervisor, carries out the normal duties required of a staff technologist
  • Establishes, applies, and maintains quality assurance policies and procedures to provide quality technical radiographic services such as maintaining the integrity of film quality and chemicals in accordance with department, hospital, and regulatory agency standards; participates in quality accordance research, data collection and report writing; makes recommendations as appropriate
  • Supports the administrative and strategic directions of the department

Quality of Care

  • Must hold everyone accountable to a high standard of patient care and patient experience in support of the Stanislaus Surgical Hospital motto, “Only the Exceptional is Acceptable.”
  • Implement and monitor compliance to patient care and professional standards established by state laws and regulatory agencies. Provide leadership to technical team in development of policies, procedures, and protocols that are to be used to integrate systems, coordinate tasks and effectively change delivery systems to reflect today’s health care environment
  • Assiststo ensure all licensing and accreditation standards for technical support team are met. Supports the goals, values, philosophies, and objectives of the of radiology center and maintains compliance with the standards for service excellence
  • Maintains and records Quality Assessment of processors, fluoro units, CT Scanner, MRI Scanner, Medications, and supply cart

Personnel Management

  • Functions as a supervisor for technical staff when Lead Technologist of Production is not available
  • Counsels and encourages staff in the pursuit of individual career goals, e.g., advanced education preparation, change in clinical area, or preparation for promotional opportunities, etc
  • Holds staff accountable for operational efficiency and quality patient care standards
  • Informs management of anticipated staffing variances. Recommends promotions, reassignments, or other personnel changes as appropriate

Communication

  • Establishes and maintains effective formalized communication systems for information sharing, planning, and problem solving with all Technical Support Team, Executive Director, and Radiologists
  • Communicates pertinent information to Executive Director
  • Demonstrates effective use of verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills

Professionalism

  • Serves as a professional role model for all staff
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional development and practice
  • Promotes the image of radiology through professional, political and/or community activities

Marketing

  • Assists Marketing Director with marketing efforts and customer service to maintain existing client base, and obtain new referral sources from physicians in Stanislaus County
  • Assists our Radiologist in marketing to our referring physicians about new state of the art equipment and services offered at Precision Imaging
  • Must be able to establish and develop practice relationships, market analysis and public relations. Must have strong teamwork skills, sales and promotion abilities
  • Must have ability to identify work flow deficiencies with referring offices and help implement changes to support our referral source’s overall experience
  • Must help Director of Marketing implement programs and surveys within and outside Precision Imaging

Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist resulting in an ARRT or CRT
  • Evidence of continuing education in the Science of Radiology Technology
  • Required Certification/Registration: CPR certified
  • Certification from the State of California as a Radiological Technologist. Fluoroscopy permits for California Department of Health Services within 1 year

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of five years of specialized experience at a level close to the duties and responsibilities of this position which have provided the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required, typically found in experience within this field or a field that is closely related
  • Minimum three to five years of experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Able to do more than one modality

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written skills. Basic proficiency with computer system
  • Comprehensive theoretical and working knowledge of the technique of radiographic procedure; the organization and operation of a large, technically complex hospital radiology department and training technique
  • Ability and skills to effectively issue and carry out oral and written instructions and radiographic procedure; plan, organize assign, supervise and inspect the work subordinates; organize, conduct and evaluate educational and in-service programs
