Job Summary:

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a complex biological/mechanical, activated sludge, wastewater treatment program and facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Problem solve and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems

·  Train and work with other coworkers as needed, may manage others depending on site needs

·  Build, organize and maintain documents and spreadsheets that trend and track day-to-day activities and operations

·  Practice lock-out tag-out procedures according to Rembrandt policies and procedures

·  Responsible for following Safety Data Sheet (SDS) procedures and filing required reports when necessary

·  Report on local and federal levels

·  Enter confined spaces and write permit entries for those spaces as needed

·  Oversee and give input on annual budget

·  Responsible for responding to alarms after hours on nights, holidays and weekends

·  Schedule and handle chemical inventories and vendor relations

·  Schedule contract labor for annual preventative care, inspections and repairs

·  Attend educational training and classes to keep current on wastewater technologies and maintain renewal of wastewater licenses at plant or with plant contractor if applicable

·  Oversees a complex land application of type 4 materials program through the contractor in conjunction with applicable Pollution Control Agencies which includes, detailed record keeping, annual reporting, and maintaining public and farmer relations

·  Responsible for monthly reporting to nearby city municipality as it pertains to Rembrandt's waste water contract

·  Collect, handle, test, analyze and record water/waste water samples and data, as well as prepare paperwork for submitting samples to certified labs for analysis

·  Maintain a detailed and organized computer filing system

·  Maintain and outsource spare parts and supply inventories

·  Practice good housekeeping skills to maintain buildings and equipment

·  Maintain a strong preventative maintenance program

·  Work with and may maintain a 100,000 GPD water softening system

·  Operate power tools and equipment safely as needed

·  Attend monthly management meetings if required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

·  4 year degree in related field and/or 3-5 years’ experience

·  Knowledgeable in mathematics, especially arithmetic and algebra

·  Independent self-starter and team player

·  Able to read, understand and effectively communicate information

·  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Web/Internet and Electronic filing

·  Well organized and excel in making things work as efficient as possible

·  Knowledge of power tools and equipment

·  Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude regarding pumps, electric motors, bearings, belts, seals and gearboxes

·  Knowledgeable in a wide variety of plumbing and flow collection system applications

·  Familiar with entering confined spaces and writing permit entries

·  Capable of managing a large annual budget

License requirements:

·  MN class D Waste Water Licence or higher preferred

·  Minnesota Type 4 land application license

Equipment:

·  Hand and Power tools

·  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to Helmets, Safety glasses, Harness and Respirator mask

·  Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring

·  Perform other tasks as assigned
